Setting Timer to End Session for Inactive User

Describes how to set the user inactivity timer to auto-terminate an inactive Control System user session.

About this task

User inactivity refers to the time that has elapsed since the last click on the web page was performed during an active user session.

If there is no user activity on the Control System for the specified time period during an active user session, the user is logged out of the Control System by an automatic termination of the user session.

The default value for the user inactivity timer is 30 minutes.

Follow the steps given below to configure the user inactivity timer:

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Control System and click Settings from the Profile and Settings drop-down menu.
  2. Set the User Session Inactivity Timer in minutes.
  3. Click Save Changes for the changes to take effect.

Results

The user session is automatically terminated and the user is logged out of the Control system, if the user does not operate the Control System for the specified time period during the current user session.
