Data Fabric Branding Changes

Describes changes to the names of Data Fabric components.

As of Data Fabric release 8.0.0, the product and feature names have been changed to remove the legacy branding terms "Ezmeral" and "MapR". All product components, modules, services, and user interface elements have been updated to reflect the new naming:

  • HPE Ezmeral Data Fabric is now HPE Data Fabric Software.
  • HPE Ezmeral Ecosystem Pack (EEP) is now HPE Data Fabric Ecosystem Pack (DEP)
  • MapR Control System is now Managed Control System
  • HPE Object Store is now HPE Data Fabric Object Store
  • HPE Ezmeral CSI Operator is now HPE Data Fabric CSI Operator
  • EDF File & Object SKU is now DF File & Object SKU

    Note that all versions of Data Fabric prior to 8.0.0 will retain the Ezmeral and MapR branding terms, so some references to these legacy names will remain in the documentation. For example, all references to Ezmeral Ecosystem Pack (EEP) versions 9.x and earlier will retain the EEP nomenclature.

    Also note that the terms "Ezmeral" and "MapR" may still appear in some portions of the documentation, such as code samples and repository paths in order to maintain legacy functionality.
