Installing Airflow CTL

mapr-airflowctl is a standalone client package that provides Airflow CLI access on nodes without Airflow services. Note that mapr-airflowctl cannot be installed on the same node as the mapr-airflow package due to a package conflict.

  1. Install the mapr-airflowctl package on any cluster or client node that does not have mapr-airflow installed.
  2. Run configure.sh -R.
  3. Generate an auth token by sending a POST request to the Airflow API server's /auth/token endpoint with your username and password:
    curl -k -X 'POST' "https://m2-hux6k-48-n2.mip.storage.hpecorp.net:8780/auth/token" -H 'Content-Type: application/json' -d '{"username": "mapr","password": "mapr"}'

where https://m2-hux6k-48-n2.mip.storage.hpecorp.net:8780/auth/token - is the airflow api server URL and {"username": "mapr","password": "mapr"} is your username and password

  4. Authenticate to airflowctl using the generated token:
    airflowctl auth login --api-url <airflow_api_server_url> --api-token <generated_token>
    For example:
    airflowctl auth login --api-url https://m2-hux6k-48-n2.mip.storage.hpecorp.net:8780 --api-token airflow auth login --api-url https://m2-hux6k-48-n2.mip.storage.hpecorp.net:8780 --api-token < generated token>
NOTE
be sure to remember the password you entered during this authentication step because you may be prompted to re-enter it later - for example, when your auth token expires and you need to re-authenticate to the Airflow API server.

After login is successful, you can begin using airflowctl.
