  Administration of the HPE Data Fabric Database is done primarily via the command line (maprcli) or with the Managed Control System (MCS). Regardless of whether the HPE Data Fabric Database table is used for binary files or JSON documents, the same types of commands are used with slightly different parameter options. HPE Data Fabric Database administration is associated with tables, columns and column families, and table regions.

Adding a DEP Service

Add a DEP service to an existing fabric.

About this task

You can add a DEP service to an existing fabric by using the Data Fabric UI.

You can add multiple related services based on the auto-provisioning template or based on the custom option.

Procedure

Log on to the Data Fabric UI
Click the All resources icon on the left pane.
Click the fabric name under the Resource Name column.
Navigate to the Services tab for the fabric.
Click Add service.
Select the Auto-provisioning template for the DEP service to install on or add to the fabric.
Click Database setup and select the appropriate database option, if you have selected a template that installs DEP components related to the Hive Metastore. Enter the SSH credentials if you have selected an option other than the embedded database.
Click Review and review the service to add to the fabric.
Click Submit to add the service related to the selected auto-provisioning template.

Results

The service related to the selected auto-provisioning template is added to the fabric and is visible under the Services tab for the fabric.
