Adding the Data Fabric Repository on Ubuntu

This section describes how to install the Data Fabric repository.

Procedure

  1. Change to the root user or use sudo.
  2. Create the following file:
    # cat /etc/apt/auth.conf.d/package.ezmeral.hpe.com.conf
    machine package.ezmeral.hpe.com
    login <HPE-Passport-email>
    password <HPE-Passport-token>
    IMPORTANT
    To access the Data Fabric internet repository, you must specify the email and token of an HPE Passport account. For more information, see Accessing the HPE Ezmeral Token-Authenticated Internet Repository.
  3. Add the following lines to /etc/apt/sources.list, replacing <version> with the version of Data Fabric software that you want to install:
    deb https://package.ezmeral.hpe.com/releases/v<version>/ubuntu/ binary bionic
    deb https://package.ezmeral.hpe.com/releases/MEP/MEP-<version>/ubuntu/ binary bionic
  4. Update the package indexes:
    apt-get update
  5. If your connection to the Internet is through a proxy server, add the following lines to /etc/apt/apt.conf:
    Acquire 
    {
      Retries "0";
      HTTP 
      {
         Proxy "http://<user>:<password>@<host>:<port>";  
      };
    };
