Enabling IPv6 for a Fabric

Describes how to enable IPv6 communication for an on-premise fabric.

Prerequisites

The underlying hardware that hosts Data Fabric must have a network interface card (NIC) that supports IPv6 addressing. This means, all fabric nodes must have the IPv6 compatible hardware.

About this task

You can enable IPv6 on an on-premise fabric.

Data Fabric can communicate with clients over IPv6 addressing. Inter-cluster traffic and intra-cluster traffic over IPv6 connections is supported with IPv4 compatibility.

See IPv6 Support in Data Fabric for details on IPv6 support.

You can enable IPv6 network communication for a fabric by using the Data Fabric UI.

Follow the steps given below to enable IPv6 communication

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Data Fabric UI.
  2. Click the Fabric Administration icon on the left panel.
  3. Select the fabric from the fabric dropdown for which you wish to enable IPv6 communication.
  4. Click the Upgrade to IPv6 link.
