Upgrade Pattern for RHEL and Data Fabric

If you need to upgrade your version of RHEL from 8.x to 9.x at the same time that you're upgrading your Data Fabric version from 7.x to the latest version, HPE recommends following this upgrade pattern.
IMPORTANT
Before performing this upgrade sequence, ensure that Data Fabric Support is informed and involved throughout the process.
  1. Stop Data Fabric services (Warden and ZooKeeper). See Stopping the Services for more information.
  2. If needed, place the node in maintenance mode. See Putting a Node into Maintenance Mode for more information.
  3. Upgrade the OS from RHEL 8.x to RHEL 9.x (for example, 9.6)
  4. Install compat-openssl11 on RHEL 9.x to address the libssl1.1 dependency.
  5. Update repositories to point to the appropriate RHEL 9 repos for Data Fabric and ensure that the correct JRE is confgured. See JRE Support for more information.
  6. Perform the Data Fabric upgrade to the target (latest supported) Data Fabric version.
  7. After the upgrade is complete, restart Data Fabric services (Warden and ZooKeeper). See Restarting the Services for more information.
  8. If the node was placed in maintenance mode, exit maintenance mode. See Taking a Node Out of Maintenance Mode for more information.
