What's New in Version 5.7.x
This topic summarizes the new features and important changes in HPE Ezmeral Runtime Enterprise 5.7.x compared to HPE Ezmeral Runtime Enterprise 5.6.5.
What's New in Version 5.7.x
- Ezmeral Runtime Enterprise - End of Life Plan:
The end-of-sale (EOS) date for legacy Ezmeral Runtime Enterprise / ML Operations (ERE/MLOps) was October 31, 2024. HPE strongly encourages that all existing customers begin planning their transition to HPE Kubernetes Service (HKS) or HPE Private Cloud AI (PCAI) as soon as possible.
Customers with active contracts will continue to receive support through the end of their contract term. During this period:- The product will be maintained for compatibility with newer Kubernetes and Kubeflow versions.
- Bug fixes will continue to be addressed.
- No new features will be introduced.
- Support for newer operating system versions will only be considered if required to address critical security vulnerabilities (CVEs)
- Renewals or expansions may be approved for one year at a time.
- No contract may extend beyond December 31, 2030.
NOTEAny renewal or expansion request will automatically initiate the FAN approval process. All requests are subject to review prior to formal approval. - Starting from ERE 5.7.2 or higer versions, Runtime binaries are
signed with a new GPG key:
Import GPG key on every cluster node BEFORE attempting Install or Upgrade operations to avoid errors and platform crash.

What's New in Version 5.7.3
The following is a summary of the new enhancements, and information related to HPE Ezmeral Runtime Enterprise 5.7.3.
- DataTap Upgrade:
Upgraded the DataTap container to the latest build using the DataFabric 7.9 library.
- Support for Kubernetes versions 1.32.5/1.33.4/1.34.2:To provide access to the latest Kubernetes versions, HPE Ezmeral Runtime Enterprise 5.7.3 version supports the following versions of CNCF-certified kebernetes distributions:
- 1.34.2-hpe1
- 1.33.4-hpe1
- 1.32.5-hpe1
- epic-mapr image Upgrade:
Upgraded epic-mapr image to 7.9.0.30.20251025070711.GA for new installations only. The epic-mapr is not automatically upgrade during Platform upgrade and manual upgrade of it must be evaluated / instructed by HPE Support only. - CSI Versons Upgrade:
Upgraded CSI versions for new 5.7.3 installations to FUSE v1.2.15 and NFS v1.0.15.
CSI is not automatically upgraded during platform upgrade to 5.7.3. To manually upgrade CSI, see Upgrading the CSI Plug-In.
- Golang version Upgrade:
The Airflow component, Golang is upgraded from 1.10.8 to 1.23.2 to fix several CVEs.

To provide access to the latest Kubernetes versions, HPE Ezmeral Runtime Enterprise 5.7.1 version supports the following versions of CNCF-certified kebernetes distributions:
- 1.30.10-hpe1
- 1.31.6-hpe1
- 1.32.2 2-hpe1
- Updated Versions of Open Source Components:HPE Ezmeral Runtime Enterprise 5.7.1 supports updated versions of open-source components, including but not limited to:
- Prometheus
- Canal
- Container Storage Interface

Linux 9:
HPE Ezmeral Runtime Enterprise 5.7.1 addresses many security vulnerabilities that were present in ERE 5.7.0 because the 'Centos 7' based container images supplied with 5.7.0 have been updated to use our curated versions of Rocky Linux 8 and Rocky Linux 9.
- Falco Container Runtime Security
Addon is Removed:
Starting from HPE Ezmeral Runtime Enterprise 5.7.1, Falco Container Runtime Security for Kubernetes is removed, for newly created Kubernetes clusters.
- Bare Metal EDF Registration for Persistent and Tenant
Storage:
HPE Ezmeral Runtime Enterprise 5.7.1 supports Bare Metal EDF registration for persistent and tenant storage for HPE Ezmeral Data Fabric versions 7.7.x through 7.9.x. It can also be used with prior HPE Ezmeral Data Fabric versions (7.2 through 7.6) but with EDF versions prior to 7.7 the monitoring of the mount point won't work.
What's New in Version 5.7.0
The following is a summary of the new enhancements, and information related to HPE Ezmeral Runtime Enterprise 5.7.0.
- Deploying HPE Ezmeral Runtime Enterprise 5.7.0:You can install HPE Ezmeral Runtime Enterprise 5.7.0:Upgrading from HPE Ezmeral Runtime Enterprise 5.6.5
- as fresh platform installation. or
- as an upgrade from HPE Ezmeral Runtime Enterprise 5.6.5.
Before upgrading from HPE Ezmeral Runtime Enterprise 5.6.5, ensure you upgrade the Kubernetes cluster to Kubernetes Version 1.28. Then upgrade as follows:- Copy ERE 5.7.0 .bin file to /srv/bluedata/bundles on the primary controller.
- In the ERE Web UI, go to Settings, and click Update.
- After platform upgrade is completed, upgrade your Kubernetes version from 1.28 to any of these latest versions — 1.29, 1.30 or 1.31— as required.
- Support for Kubernetes versions 1.29.9/1.30.5/1.31.1:Kubernetes versions 1.26.x. 1.27.x, and 1.28.x have entered maintenance mode and End of Life. To provide access to the latest Kubernetes versions, HPE Ezmeral Runtime Enterprise 5.7.0 version supports the following versions of CNCF-certified kebernetes distributions:
- 1.29.9-hpe1
- 1.30.5-hpe1
- 1.31.1-hpe1
- Customers are not entitled to 2 TB of EDF storage with HPE Ezmeral Runtime Enterprise Licenses:
HPE Ezmeral Runtime Enterprise licenses that are issued from the date of release of HPE Ezmeral Runtime Enterprise 5.7.0, including renewal and extension licenses, do not include the 2TB of storage referred to in existing versions of the ERE Licensing Agreements. All storage quotas used by HPE Ezmeral Runtime Enterprise platforms on the external Data Fabric clusters must be covered by a Data Fabric licenses.
- CentOS not supported:
Starting from HPE Ezmeral Runtime Enterprise 5.7.0, CentOS is not supported.
