Creating the Git Repository for Centralized Policy Management

Required access rights: Platform Administrator or Cluster Administrator

You can designate either a public or private Git repository for use with centralized policy management. But you must configure the repository before adding it. For information about creating a repository, see Creating a New Repository.

If you create a public repository, the HPE Ezmeral Runtime Enterprise must have Internet access. To facilitate Internet access, you must configure a web proxy on all of the platform hosts and run the installer with the --proxy option. For more information, see Web Proxy Requirements and Standard Installation.

Directory Structure for Policies

A policy typically consists of two files (a template.yaml and constraint.yaml) in the same directory. The web interface displays this directory as a single policy. See the following example. If you combine multiple template.yaml and constraint.yaml files in the same directory, the objects will be applied, but all of the policies that they represent will be displayed as one policy. For more information about the directory structure, see Creating Policies for Centralized Policy Management.
